The invention provides a mechanical tree or bush harvester comprising: a) a cutting head comprising two oscillating shear blades for producing cuttings from a tree or bush, said cutter head being 200mm to 2 metres wide; b) an air blower providing an air flow traversing the cutter head for propelling cuttings into; c) a manifold connected to or part of a container for receiving said cuttings. The invention can be hand-held or can be mounted on a machine and is particularly useful in harvesting yew trees.
