A retractable gooseneck trailer hitch mechanism for mounting in a bed (12) in a pickup truck (14). The mechanism (10) has a housing (28) with a generally vertical opening therein which receives a hitch member (22). The housing has a generally vertical slot (94) therein through which a portion of the hitch member (22) extends outwardly therethrough. A cam (24) having an arcuate face is pivotally coupled with the housing and is rotatable between a first and second position. A linkage assembly (26) is coupled with the cam (24) and permits a user of the mechanism to move the cam (24) between its first and second positions from a location remote to the hitch member. When the cam is in its first position, the hitch member is in a lowered or retracted position. To move the hitch member to a raised or use position, the user rotates the cam (24) from its first position to the second position via the linkage assembly (26).

L'invention concerne un mécanisme rétractable d'attache de remorque à col de cygne destiné à être monté sur le châssis (12) d'une camionnette (14). Ce mécanisme (10) possède un logement (28) pourvu d'une ouverture généralement verticale qui reçoit une attache (22). Ce logement possède une fente (94) généralement verticale, au travers de laquelle une partie de l'attache (22) prend place vers l'extérieur. Une came (24) possédant une face arquée est couplée pivotante au logement et elle peut être déplacée entre une première et une seconde position. Un ensemble de liaison (26) est couplé à la came (24) et permet à un utilisateur du mécanisme de déplacer cette came (24) entre sa première et sa seconde position à partir d'un emplacement distant de l'attache. Lorsque la came est dans sa première position, l'attache est en position abaissée ou rétractée. Pour déplacer l'attache en position haute ou position d'utilisation, l'utilisateur fait tourner la came (24) de sa première position à la seconde position via l'ensemble de liaison (26).
