Multi-layer imaging media having outer layers that are transmissive at the wavelength of an optical auto-focus system present significant difficulty for the auto- focus sensing and servo systems. Multiple reflections are often in- distinguishable resulting in imaging failures. Improved media include an absorber which absorbs light of a wavelength used to control an auto-focus system. This substantially reduces multiple reflections and reduces the likelihood of imaging errors.
