A device and method for cutting and collecting bone debris. The device comprises a receptacle having an opening, the receptacle opening being disposed with respect to a cutting tool such that, in use, bone debris produced by the cutting tool is received by the receptacle. The opening of the receptacle may have dimensions corresponding to those of the cutting tool. The receptacle may be shaped so that it does not extend beyond the outer periphery of the cutting tool.
