A method and apparatus are provided for quickly connecting a handpiece (400) to a pressurized fluid source (300). A hollow tube on the handpiece (400) is inserted through an aperture in an annular (100) gasket which is held in a chamber (500) in a body. On application of pressurized fluid to the body, the gasket is pressed against the walls of the chamber, and against the tube, thereby channeling the pressurized fluid through the hollow tube. The handpiece is retained in connection with the body by a releasable connector, such as a latch (944). The handpiece can be removed and replaced by releasing and remaking the connection.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un appareil permettant de rapidement installer une pièce à main sur une source de fluide sous pression. Un tube creux monté sur la pièce à main est inséré à travers une ouverture dans un joint annulaire qui est maintenu dans une chambre à l'intérieur d'un corps. Lors de l'application du fluide sous pression sur le corps, le joint est comprimé contre les parois de la chambre et contre le tube, ce qui permet d'acheminer le fluide sous pression à travers le tube creux. Cette pièce à main est maintenue en connexion avec le corps au moyen d'un connecteur amovible, tel qu'un verrou. Il est possible d'ôter et de remplacer la pièce à main en détachant et en installant à nouveau la connexion.
