This invention provides implantable medical devices having at least one moiety attached to the surface capable of catalyzing a reaction in vivo. The implantable medical device has a body such as a stent with a surface adapted to be placed adjacent to a biological tissue or fluid. The body has at least one moiety attached to the surface which is capable of catalyzing a first reaction upon contacting a first substrate in the biological tissue or fluid. The moiety remains attached to the surface after the first reaction and is capable of catalyzing at least a second reaction upon contacting a second substrate. In preferred embodiments the moiety is capable of catalyzing a multitude of reactions as substrates come into contact and then leave the surface of the device.
La présente invention concerne des dispositifs médicaux implantables possédant au moins une fraction fixée à la surface capable de catalyser une réaction in vivo. Ce dispositif médical implantable possède un corps tel qu'un stent avec une surface conçue pour être placé à côté d'un tissu ou d'un liquide biologique. Ce corps possède au moins une fraction fixée à la surface capable de catalyser une première réaction lors d'une mise en contact d'un premier substrat dans le tissu ou le liquide biologique. Cette fraction reste fixée à la surface après la première réaction et est capable de catalyser au moins une deuxième réaction lors d'une mise en contact d'un deuxième substrat. Dans des modes de réalisation préférés de l'invention cette fraction est capable de catalyser une multitude de réactions lorsque les substrats viennent en contact puis elle quitte la surface du dispositif.
