The invention relates to a medical implant for the human and animal body, consisting at least partly of a magnesium alloy. According to the invention, the magnesium alloy contains fractions of rare earth elements and lithium, as well as optionally yttrium and aluminium. Preferably, the magnesium alloy contains lithium in a proportion of 0.01 to 7 % by mass, aluminium in a proportion of 0.01 to 16 % by mass, optionally yttrium in a proportion of 0.01 to 7 % by mass and rare earth elements in a proportion of 0.01 to 8 % by mass.

L'invention concerne un implant médical pour le corps humain ou animal, constitué au moins partiellement d'un alliage de magnésium. Selon la présente invention, cet alliage de magnésium contient des fractions de métaux des terres rares, de lithium et, éventuellement, de d'yttrium et d'aluminium. Cet alliage de magnésium contient, de préférence, du lithium dans une proportion de 0,01 à 7 % en masse, de l'aluminium dans une proportion de 0,01 à 16 % en masse, éventuellement de l'yttrium dans une proportion de 0,01 à 7 % en masse et des métaux des terres rares dans une proportion de 0,01 à 8 % en masse.
