A connector assembly is provided having a male component (12) and a female component (10) to provide fluid communication between a fluid source and a patient. The female component (10) includes a door (28) rotatable about a hinge (30). The door (28) is forced open by a longitudinal member (34) within the male component (12). The door (28) is converted into a position parallel to the length of the female component (10) providing fluid communication between a tubing (36) extending into the female component (10). A sleeve (44) is further provided to permit and to prevent fluid flow through a tubing by rotation of the sleeve (44) resulting in compression and expansion of longitudinal members (46) within the sleeve (44) and thereby the tubing.
Connecteur comportant un élément mâle (12) et un élément femelle (10) et servant à mettre en communication une source de fluide et une destination, par exemple un patient. L'élément femelle (10) comporte un clapet (28) pivotant sur une charnière (30) et forcé en position d'ouverture par une pièce longitudinale (34) de l'élément mâle. Le clapet (28) se trouve ainsi placé parallèlement à la longueur de l'élément femelle (10), ce qui permet la circulation d'un fluide provenant d'une tubulure (36) s'étendant dans l'élément femelle (10). En outre, un manchon (44) sert à arrêter ou laisser passer le fluide, sa rotation entraînant le retrait ou l'extension de la pièce longitudinale (46) dans le manchon et donc dans le tube.
