A medical walker foot (10) includes a shell (14) having a base portion (16) for engaging a floor or the ground when weight is applied to the walker, and a sleeve portion (18) for receiving the lower end of the medical walker leg (12). A biasing member is disposed in the shell (14) for biasing a tip member (36) into an extended position, disengaging the base portion (16) from the ground, and allowing the tip member (36) to glide along the ground when weight is removed from the walker. The biasing member provides a substantially uniform pressure throughout its full stroke and may comprise a cup-like urethane cushion (30) or a coil spring (88). The base portion (16) of the shell (14) includes a wiper seal (114) which extends radially into the opening in the base portion (16) to form a watertight seal with the stem of the tip member (36).
Cette invention concerne un pied (10) de déambulateur médical comportant une coque (14) dotée d'une base (16) conçue pour entrer en contact avec un plancher ou avec le sol lorsqu'un poids est appliqué audit déambulateur, ainsi qu'un manchon (18) conçu pour recevoir l'extrémité inférieure d'un tube vertical (12) de déambulateur médical. Un élément de sollicitation, disposé à l'intérieur de la coque (14), est conçu pour forcer un élément d'extrémité (36) à adopter une position d'extension, de façon à supprimer le contact entre la base (16) et le sol, et pour permettre à l'élément d'extrémité (36) de glisser sur le sol lorsque le poids n'est plus appliqué au déambulateur. Ledit élément de sollicitation, qui assure une pression sensiblement uniforme sur toute sa course, peut comporter un coussin amortisseur (30) en uréthane et en forme de coupe ou un ressort hélicoïdal (88). La base (16) de la coque (14) incorpore un joint racleur (114) qui est disposé radialement à l'intérieur de l'ouverture de la base (16) de façon à constituer un joint étanche avec la tige de l'élément d'extrémité (36).
