An apparatus for destroying medical waste material is provided including a transportable container member, a processor (20) having rotatably driven roller members (24, 25) for breaking the medical waste materials into smaller particles, a removable receptacle (21) for containing the medical waste particles, and a loading device for actuating an opening mechanism of the transportable container and regulating the introduction of medical waste material therein.
