A drug for preventing and/or treating vascular diseases such as angiostenosis and/or reocculusion following percutaneous coronary angioplasty with the use of an intravascular stent, containing as the active ingredient a substance which is selected from a group consisting of retinoids and substances controlling retionids~ functions such as 4-[(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5,5,8,8- tetramethyl-2-naphthalenyl)carbamoyl]benzoic acid or 4-[[[3,5- bis(trimethylsilyl)phenyl]carbonyl]amino]benozic acid, substantially has no effect of inhibiting the growth of vascular endothelial cells but substantially shows an effect of inhibiting the growth of vascular smooth muscle cells.
L'invention concerne un médicament permettant de prévenir et/ou de traiter des maladies vasculaires, telles que l'angiosténose et/ou la réocclusion suite à une angioplastie coronaire percutanée au moyen d'un stent intravasculaire. Ledit médicament contient comme ingrédient actif une substance qui est sélectionnée parmi un groupe comprenant des rétinoïdes et des substances régulant les fonctions des rétinoïdes, telles que l'acide benzoïque 4-[(5,6,7,8-tétrahydro-5,5,8,8-tétraméthyl-2-naphthalényl)carbamoyl] ou l'acide benzoïque 4-[[[3,5-bis(triméthylsilyl)phényl]carbonyl]amino]. Ce médicament n'a pratiquement pas d'effet inhibiteur sur la croissance de cellules endothéliales vasculaires, mais il présente un effet d'inhibition sur la croissance de cellules de muscles lisses vasculaires.
