Use of particulate bulking agents having an extremely small mass median diameter of less than one micron, preferably less than 300 nm, in pharmaceutical aerosol formulations comprising a suspension of drug particles in a propellant. Examples of bulking agents include ascorbic acid, saccharides, polysaccharides, amino acids, organic and inorganic salts, urea, and propyliodone.

L'invention concerne l'utilisation de supports particulaires ayant un diamètre moyen en masse extrêmement faible, inférieur à un micron, et de préférence inférieur à 300 nm, pour des formulations pharmaceutiques en aérosol renfermant une suspension de particules médicamenteuses dans un propulseur. Par exemple, on peut utiliser les supports suivants: acide ascorbique, saccharides, polysaccharides, acides aminés, sels organiques et inorganiques, urée, et propyliodone.
