Abstract of the Disclosure Plastic catheters can have an electrode close to their patient end for use in sensing or stimulating, the electrode being connected to a wire that runs along the length of the catheter. In the present invention the electrode is formed of an electrically-conductive plastics. This is injection moulded about the catheter where the wire emerges through an aperture in its wall so as to make electrical contact with the wire. The electrode is moulded into a cavity that gives the electrode a convex surface projecting from the catheter.
