This invention relates generally to methods and compositions useable to a) block or antagonize melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) receptors and/or b) decrease food intake or c) treat a disorder such as obesity, a metabolic disorder, an eating disorder, depression or urinary incontinence. Compositios of this invention include N-benzylamino cyclic thioureas, pharmaceutical preparations containing them, and their use as antagonists of (MCH receptor) and/or for other therapeutic or diagnostic purposes.
L'invention concerne en règle générale des procédés et des compositions utilisables pour a) bloquer les récepteurs MCH ou jouer un rôle antagoniste vis-à-vis d'eux et/ou b) diminuer la ration alimentaire ou c) traiter des troubles du type obésité, trouble métabolique, trouble de l'alimentation, dépression ou incontinence urinaire. On décrit des compositions qui se présentent sous la forme de thiourées N-benzylamino cycliques, des préparations pharmaceutiques les renfermant, et leur utilisation comme antagonistes vis-à-vis du récepteur MCH et/ou leur utilisation à d'autres fins thérapeutiques ou diagnostiques.
