ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A melting apparatus comprising a low temperature melting portion (29), an exhaust gas cooling portion (26), a dust collecting portion (B27) which are arranged, in succession, in an exhaust gas duct (54) of a melting furnace (22), a low boiling point dust collected in the dust collecting portion (B27) being returned to the low temperature melting portion (29) and being melted therein by retention heat of an exhaust gas flowing into the exhaust gas duct (54).
