A member for a molten metal bath, provided with a composite sprayed coating possessing excellent corrosion resistance and peeling resistance against a molten metal. A substrate layer for a cermet sprayed coating comprising 5 to 60 % by weight of a metal boride and 5 to 30 % by weight of at least one member selected from among Co, Cr, Mo, and W with the balance consisting of a metal carbide and unavoidable impurities is formed on the surface of a member for a molten metal bath, such as a roll to be used in the state of submersion in a bath, and an oxide ceramic sprayed coating surface layer comprising a combination of various oxides is formed on the coating, followed by sealing of the composite coating with an inorganic sealing agent.

Elément pour bain de métal en fusion, doté d'un revêtement composite pulvérisé présentant une excellente résistance à la corrosion et à l'écaillage au contact de métal en fusion. On forme une couche de substrat pour un revêtement pulvérisée de cermet comprenant de 5 à 60 % en poids de borure de métal et de 5 à 30 % en poids d'au moins un élément sélectionné parmi Co, Cr, Mo et W, le reste étant constitué de carbure métallique et d'impuretés inévitables, sur la surface d'un élément pour bain de métal en fusion, par exemple un cylindre utilisé en submersion dans un tel bain. Sur ce revêtement on forme ensuite par pulvérisation une couche de revêtement superficielle comprenant une combinaison de divers oxydes, puis on colmate le composite à l'aide d'un agent de colmatage inorganique.
