A drug delivery device for delivery of a drug which comprises a mixture of a first substance and a second substance, the device including a first chamber (24) for housing the first substance, a second chamber (30) for housing the second substance and a membrane (28) which on application of a predetermined condition thereto is movable from a first disposition in which it partitions the first and second chambers to prevent mixture of the first and second substances to a second disposition in which it enables the first and second substances to be mixed. In one aspect, the membrane (28) contains a barrier material comprising polychlorotrifluoroethylene or a copolymer thereof, polyvinylidene chloride or a copolymer thereof or a silicon oxide. In another aspect, the first chamber (24) is formed from a polyethylene based polymer.

Cette invention concerne un dispositif permettant d'administrer un médicament qui se compose d'un mélange d'une première et d'une seconde substances. Ce dispositif comprend une première chambre (24) renfermant la première substance, une seconde chambre (30) renfermant la seconde substance, ainsi qu'une membrane (28). Lorsque l'on exerce une action prédéterminée sur la membrane, celle-ci va passer d'une première position, où elle sépare les première et seconde chambres afin que les première et seconde substances ne puissent se mélanger, en une seconde position permettant de mélanger lesdites substances. Dans un mode de réalisation, la membrane (28) comprend un matériau faisant barrière qui contient du polychlorotrifluoroéthylène ou un copolymère de celui-ci, du chlorure de polyvinylidène ou un copolymère de celui-ci ou, encore, de l'oxyde de silicium. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, la première chambre (24) est faite d'un polymère à base de polyéthylène.
