MEMBRANE GAS SEPARATION PROCESSES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Membrane gas separation processes for permeating gas species which can adversely affect the permeation characteristics of a membrane are disclosed. Permeabi- lity creep induced by permeating gas species such as acid gases is reduced by maintaining the partial pressure of permeated acid gases at a sufficiently low level. In particular, carbon dioxide is effectively separated in a membrane gas separator process utilizing a hollow fiber membrane having a sufficiently high ratio of (bore diameter)2/length.
