-48- ABSTRACT Disclosed is a process for sealing a hollow fiber membrane separation bundle (10) into a case (16). The bundle (10) of hollow fibers, surrounding a core (12) and having tubesheets (14), (15) at each end which bind the hollow fibers together, is positioned within the case that is in a vertical position. A resin is introduced through an opening into the first end of the case to fill the region adjacent the first end between the interior of the case and first tubesheet while retaining a space or cavity overlying the open ends of said hollow fibers at the first tubesheet. The resin is cured, the position of the case (15) reversed and the process repeated for the second end of the case. Openings (21), (22) are provided at each end of the case through the cured resin, penetrating to the space overlying the ends of the hollow fibers, thereby providing flow paths for introducing or withdrawing fluids. A separation module is described made by the 37,448B-F above defined process which further include baffles for channeling fluid flow on the exterior of said hollow fibers parallel to this core and countercurrent to bore- side flow.
