APPLICATION FOR LETTERS PATENT FOR MEMBRANE SEPARATION OF WEAK ACIDS FROM AQUEOUS STREAMS Abstract of the Disclosure Weak acids having at least about one percent of the acid molecules in undissociated form are separated from aqueous mixtures containing same by contacting the aqueous feed mixture with a first surface of a nonionic, polymeric membrane which is selectively permeable to unionized acid molecules, maintaining a second and opposite membrane surface at a lower chemical potential than the first surface, and withdrawing from the second membrane surface a mixture having a higher total concentration of acid moieties than the unionized acids concentration in the aqueous feed mixture.
