18 ABSTRACT This invention discloses a membraneous zeolite having a thickness of 1 µ m to 500 µ m and the production conditions to form the same. Since the membraneous zeolite of this invention consists almost of crystalline synthetic zeolite, it is expected to have excellent abilities for material separation. The thickness of this membrane can be control- led easily by adjusting pH of aqueous reaction mixture. At least one organic nitrogen containing cation have to be contained in the aqueous reaction mixture to form membraneous zeolite of present invention. The preferred composition of starting materials are also disclosed.
