The present invention is directed toward a composition comprising a hydrophylic polymer and at least one salt of an aminoacid, the salt of the aminoacid being present in amount ranging from about 10 to about 80 wt.% based on the total weight of the composition. Another embodiment of the present invention comprises a membrane suitable for use in separating CO2 from gas streams containing CO2, especially H2 rich gas streams containing CO2 and CO.
