Abstract of the Disclosure This invention relates to novel obligomers and polymers produced from monomer carbonate esters of menthol having the formula: Image Wherein: N = 0 to 8 R and R1 are independently selected from the group consisting of aliphatic, alicyclic and aromatic hydrocarbons These compounds find particular use as menthol-release agents which will impart improved aroma, flavor, and taste effects to natural and reconstituted smoking products. -1-
