MERCURY PRESSURIZED INCANDESCENT LAMP ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An incandescent lamp housing a tungsten filament and containing an inert gas, a vaporizable metal mercury at a high operating pressure and an oxygen getter is disclosed. The high pressure mercury in cooperation with the oxygen getter and without the need of a halogen additive reduces or even eliminates the typically experienced wall blackening of the incandescent lamp.
