A screen applied to overlay a guttering (14) on an outside edge of a roof (10) of a building. The screen is a panel (15) of generally planar mesh moulded from a plurality of plastics materials. It is affixed along one edge (16) to the roof (10) and along the opposite edge (17) to the top outside edge of the guttering (14). At least part of the plastics material on the bottom face (40) of the mesh has a higher content of carbon black, or a higher resistance to degradation by UV light, than does the plastics material forming the top face (38) of the mesh. The degradation resistant parts of the mesh may comprise stripes (49) of plastics material containing carbon black. The black stripes (49) are not visible from above when the mesh is installed.

Dans la présente invention, on applique un grillage qui recouvre une gouttière (14) située sur le bord externe du toit (10) d'un bâtiment. Le grillage est constitué d'un panneau (15) constitué généralement d'un maillage moulé à partir d'une pluralité de matériaux plastiques. Il est fixé sur un côté (16) du toit (10) et, sur son côté opposé (17), il est fixé au bord externe de la gouttière (14). Au moins une partie des matières plastiques situées sur la partie basse (40) du maillage a une teneur en noir de carbone supérieure ou bien une plus grande résistance à la dégradation par les UV que les matières plastiques constituant la partie supérieure (38) du maillage. Les éléments résistant à la dégradation du maillage peuvent être constitués de bandes (49) en matière plastique contenant du noir de carbone. Les bandes noires (49) ne sont pas visibles depuis le haut lorsque le maillage est installé.
