MESSAGE DATA CELL MULTIPLEXING APPARATUS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A message data cell multiplexing apparatus includes a message queue unit that stores waiting transmission messages sent from a LAN containing terminals via an input line in a FIFO operation. A cellulation unit reads out the messages and produces cells, which have logical channel number information in their header parts. A cell queue is included for storing the cells that are output from the cellulation unit for every logical channel number information. A queue selector may be employed that searches the cell queue in a specified circulative order. The queue selector outputs every transmission waiting cell to the corresponding logical channel. Transmission of cells is alternated so that the cells of at least one message are not all transmitted in consecutive time slots.
