A message transmission system (100) and method for providing flexible roaming to a receiving device (126) which includes a code memory (422) which stores a plurality of addresses of a first type (1202) to enable reception of messages within a local geographic area, and at least one address of a second type (1214) to enable reception of messages within a wide geographic area. The message transmission system (100) includes a first transmitter (SSID1) which transmits the plurality of addresses of the first type with a message associated therewith within the local geographic area, a controller (204) which controls conversion of the plurality of addresses of the first type to the at least one address of the second type, and a second transmitter (SSID2- SSID5) which transmits the at least one address of the second type with the plurality of messages associated therewith within the wide geographic area.

Un système de transmission de messages (100) et un procédé permettant une localisation sélective vers un dispositif récepteur (126) comprenant une mémoire code (422) qui emmagasine une pluralité d'adresses d'un premier type (1202) afin de permettre la réception de messages dans une zone géographique locale, et au moins une adresse d'un second type (1214) afin de permettre la réception de messages dans une zone géographique élargie.
