A system and method (20) for processing performance metric data and converting the data from Universal/Uniform data format (UDF) to a form readable by data analysis/reporting tools (30) such as SAS IT Service Vision. Performance metric data is collected by collection agents (15) in UDF files. Universal/Uniform data format files produced by the same type of collection agent (15) are reformatted and mapped to a dataset (figure 3) having a number of records or observations. The datasets (figure 3) are sorted by grouping the records according to a characteristic such as an attribute and performance data tables (figure 3) are constructed from the sorted datasets in the form of SAS datasets. The SAS datasets may be read by data analysis/reporting tools (30) that use the datasets to produce charts and graphs of computer system performance for display.
L'invention concerne un système et un procédé (20) permettant de traiter des données de mesure de rendement et de convertir ces données du format UDF (Universal/Uniform data format) en un format lisible par des outils d'analyse ou d'édition de données (30) tels que SAS IT Service Vision. Ces données de mesure de rendement sont recueillies dans des fichiers UDF par des agents de collecte (15). Les fichiers en format UDF produits par un agent de collecte (15) du même type sont reformatés et mis en correspondance avec un fichier (figure 3) comprenant un certain nombre d'articles ou d'observations. Pour trier les fichiers (figure 3) on regroupe les articles en fonction de caractéristiques telles qu'un attribut. On élabore ensuite les tables de données de rendement sous forme de fichiers (figure 3) SAS à partir des fichiers triés. Ces fichiers SAS peuvent être lus par des outils d'analyse ou d'édition de données (30), qui font appel aux fichiers pour produire des tableaux et des graphiques affichant les performances d'un système informatique.
