A metabolic controlled fermentation process has been developed for the production of carbamoyl tobramycin by the application of different Streptocmyces tenebrarius strains in submerged cultures at a temperature within about 37-41~C on a medium containing assimilable carbon and nitrogen sources, mineral salts and controlling the assimilable carbon and nitrogen sources by feeding in an optimal range. As a result of this invention a high yield production of carbamoyl tobramycin with high purity could be achieved.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fermentation métabolique contrôlée mis au point pour produire de la carbamoyl-tobramycine. Ce procédé consiste à appliquer différentes souches de <i>Streptomyces tenebrarius</i> dans des cultures submergées à une température de l'ordre de 37-41 ·C sur un milieu contenant des sources de carbone et d'azote assimilables et des sels minéraux et à contrôler les sources de carbone et d'azote assimilables en régulant leur niveau de façon optimale. Cette invention permet d'obtenir une production à fort rendement de carbamoyl-tobramycine présentant une haute pureté.
