The present invention relates to engineering metabolic pathways in bacterial host cells which results in enhanced carbon flow for the production of ascorbic acid (ASA) intermediates. In particular, the invention relates to increasing the production of ASA intermediates in bacterial cells by enhancing the availability of gluconate resulting from the inactivation of endogenous gluconate transporter genes.
L'invention se rapporte à la manipulation de voies métaboliques dans des cellules hôtes bactériennes, de manière à obtenir une circulation améliorée du carbone servant à la production d'intermédiaires de l'acide ascorbique (ASA). L'invention porte en particulier sur l'accroissement de la production d'intermédiaires de l'ASA dans les cellules bactériennes, obtenu par augmentation la biodisponibilité du gluconate résultant de l'inactivation des gènes des transporteurs de gluconate endogènes.
