A two-piece patellar prosthesis (10) for use in combination with a prepared patella (9) has a plastic component (11') with a dome (21'), a body portion (23') and a central post (25') and a second metal component (12') engaged to the surface (24') of the first component (11') opposing said dome (21'), said second component (12') having a porous surface (31') to promote bone in- growth and a plurality of spikes (32') for preventing rotation.
