Method and apparatus for preparing at least one metal chloride from metal oxide containing material comprising calcining the metal oxide containing material under temperature conditions sufficient to obtain a calcined product comprising at least one metal oxide; and selectively chlorinating (BB) the calcined product to form at least one metal chloride (36B).

Procédé et dispositif de fabrication d'au moins un chlorure métallique à partir de matériau contenant de l'oxyde métallique, le procédé consistant à calciner ledit matériau sous des conditions de température suffisantes pour donner un produit calciné qui comprend au moins un oxyde métallique; et à assurer la chloruration (BB) de ce produit pour former au moins un chlorure métallique (36B).
