ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A polyimide laminate sheet and a process for coating one or both surfaces of a polyimide sheet are disclosed. Polyimide-metal laminates are formed by etching the surfaces of a polyimide web with a glycol-containing etchant to render at least one surface textured. The textured surface is then treated with catalyst and then followed by electroless nickel or cobalt deposition and then be copper deposition. The glycol-containing etchant can be utilized to form holes through the web.
