A combination of a metal coiled tubing (12) and a signal transmitting passageway (14) for transmitting and/or receiving signals to well tools (16) positioned in the coiled tubing (12). The signal transmitting passageway (14) is positioned in the wall (15) of the coiled tubing (12) and may transmit and receive hydraulic, electrical or light signals and the signals may be used for transmitting power signals for actuating well tools, control signals for controlling well tools, and/or data signals for transmitting or receiving information.
