There is provided a zeolite bound zeolite catalyst which does not contain significant amounts of non-zeolitic binder and a process for converting hydrocarbons utilizing the zeolite bound zeolite catalyst. The catalyst comprises first zeolite, crystals, a binder comprising second zeolite crystals and a hydrogenation/dehydrogenation metal. The zeolite bound zeolite catalyst is prepared by converting the silica binder of a silica bound aggregate containing the first crystals of said first zeolite and at least a portion of the hydrogenation/dehydrogenation metal to said second zeolite. Conversion processes such as naphtha reforming, xylene isomerization/ethylbenzene conversion, the zeolite bound zeolite catalyst has excellent performance when used in hydrocarbon.
On décrit un catalyseur à base d'une zéolithe liée à une autre zéolithe, et ne contenant pas de quantités importantes d'un liant non zéolithe, ainsi qu'un procédé de conversion d'hydrocarbures à l'aide de ce catalyseur. Celui-ci comprend une première zéolithe, des cristaux, un liant comportant des cristaux d'une seconde zéolithe ainsi qu'un métal d'hydrogénation/déshydrogénation. On prépare ce catalyseur en transformant le liant silice d'un agrégat lié par la silice et contenant les premiers cristaux de la première zéolithe ainsi qu'au moins une portion du métal d'hydrogénation/déshydrogénation, en une seconde zéolithe. On décrit également des procédés de conversion tels que le reformage de la naphte, l'isomérisation de xylène ou la conversion d'éthylbenzène. Ce catalyseur à base d'une zéolithe liée à une autre zéolithe est extrêmement performant lorsqu'on l'utilise dans des hydrocarbures.
