A crosslinker for polymerizing a film-forming material including an alkyl or aromatic compound comprising at least two functional groups reactive with a film-forming resin and at least one pendent group having a nonionic metal coordinating structure. Coating compositions can include a film-forming material and the crosslinker. The coating compositions can be used to coat a substrate, such as a metal substrate. Applied coating layers on substrates can be cured to form coating films.

L'invention concerne un réticulant servant à polymériser un matériau filmogène contenant un composé alkyle ou aromatique comprenant au moins deux groupes fonctionnels réactifs avec une résine filmogène et au moins un groupe pendant présentant une structure de coordination métallique non ionique. Des compositions de revêtement peuvent contenir un matériau filmogène et ledit réticulant. Ces compositions de revêtement peuvent être utilisées pour revêtir un substrat, tel qu'un substrat métallique. Les couches de revêtement appliquées sur des substrats peuvent être durcies pour former des films de revêtement.
