ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A cutting and manipulating attachment for a backhoe having a boom with a piston and cylinder connected thereto comprising: a shear having a fixed cutting blade having horizontally spaced, parallel beam portions and horizontal section therebetween, a movable cutting blade pivoted to said fixed cutting blade, cutting edge portions on said movable cuttting blade arranged in right angular relation to one another, said movable cutting blade having an end cutting portion directed generally toward said fixed cutting blade, a slot in one of said horizontal sections of said fixed cutting blade defining an elongated guide path, said slot being positioned and sized to receive and maintain said end cutting portion of said movable cutting blade in shearing relation to a work piece disposed between said blades, a second piston and cylinder assembly pivotally engaged on said fixed cutting blade and connected to said movable cutting blade so that the same can be moved relative to said fixed cutting blade thereby from open to closed position and vice versa, devices on said fixed cutting blade connecting said fixed cutting blade to said controlled piston and cylinder assembly so that said shear can be moved relative to said boom.
