A die cutting apparatus for forming die cuts from paper and other materials includes a metal base plate defining at least one channel therein for receiving at least one blade. The blade has a desired shape to provide a cutting edge with a predetermined contour to substantially match the contour of the at least one channel. The blade is welded to the base plate to secure it relative thereto and extends above the base plate to provide an exposed edge for cutting paper and the like into the predetermined contour. A covering is provided over at least a portion of the back surface of the base plate.

L'invention concerne un appareil de découpage à la forme permettant de former des découpes à partir de papier et d'autres matières, ledit appareil comprenant une plaque de base métallique qui forme au moins un canal de logement d'au moins une lame. Cette dernière présente une forme souhaitée destinée à engendrer un bord coupant doté d'un contour prédéterminé de manière à correspondre sensiblement au contour du canal. La lame est soudée à la plaque de base, afin de la fixer par rapport à ladite plaque de base et elle s'étend au-dessus de cette plaque de base pour fournir un bord exposé servant à découper du papier et similaire, suivant le contour prédéterminé. Un revêtement se trouve sur au moins une partie de la surface arrière de la plaque de base.
