A shaped article having EMI shielding properties, having been shaped by thermoforming of a planar sheet, and having a shape requiring the planar sheet to exhibit a stretch ratio of at least 300 %, and up to 500 %. The article consists essentially of a fibrous metal mat substantially surrounded by a fiber-coat and a polymeric carrier for support of the mat. The fiber mat may also be embedded into the carrier material. The fiber-coat may be sprayed onto the mat or, as a thermoplastic material, may be forced together with the metal fiber mat to surround it, and such procedure may take place before or after attachment to the carrier material.
L'invention concerne un article formé présentant des propriétés de blindage contre les perturbations électromagnétiques. On forme cet article par thermoformage d'une feuille plane, la forme de cet article exigeant que la feuille plane présente un taux d'allongement d'au moins 300 %, et pouvant atteindre 500 %. Cet article est essentiellement composé d'un mat de fibres métalliques sensiblement entouré par un revêtement à fibres et un support polymère destiné à soutenir le mat. Le mat fibreux peut également être incorporé dans le matériau de support. Le revêtement à fibres peut être pulvérisé sur le mat ou, tout comme un matériau thermoplastique, pressé contre le mat de fibres métalliques pour entourer ce dernier, cette opération pouvant se faire avant ou après fixation sur le matériau de support.
