ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a method of improving the properties of extrudable thermoplastics which contain metal particles comprising incorporating into the material to be extruded the composition marketed under the trade mark "IRGANOX MD 1024". Alternative embodiments include a method of preparing a stabilized metal-containing thermo- plastic protective material which comprises extruding a continuous layer of an extrudate comprising an extrudable thermoplastic material containing the composition marketed under the trade mark "IRGANOX MD 1024" onto a substrate having at least one major planar surfaces a stabilized metal- containing extrudate suitable for prolonged outdoor exposure comprising an extrudate of thermoplastic material containing finely divided metal particles and the composition "IRGANOX MD 1024"; and a metal-containing thermoplastic composite material which comprises a layer of scrim material, the layer having thereon a metal-containing extrudate of a thermoplastic material along and about at least a portion of a face of the scrim material.
