METAL FILM RECORDING MEDIA FOR LASER WRITING Abstract of the Disclosure Thin metal film system supported on transparent substrates are described for use in laser mocromachining of high resolution facsimile images. The disclosed systems, which include a specific plastic film undercoating interposed between the metal film and the transparent substrate, require less energy for micromachining than metal films of equal optical capacity. The plastic film also acts as a barrier which reduces interaction between impurities in the substrate and the metal film. - i -
