ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a food product processing machine having a hopper into which the food product is directed and from which the food product is to be dispensed, an insert extending over the inner walls of the hopper, which walls are exposed to the food product. The insert has a major body portion extending over a substantial portion of the inner hopper walls, with structure defining plural surfaces on the body portion. The plural surfaces are disposed at an angle to the inner hopper walls so that the plural surfaces define lateral projections relative to the hopper walls, form an irregular surface overlaying the hopper walls, and reduce the area in potential contact with the food product.
