ABSTRACT QM 35147 METAL MESH AND PRODUCTION THEREOF A process for the production of an open metal mesh the surfaces of which are coated with a coating of an electrocatalytically-active material, the process comprising forming a plurality of slits in a sheet of metal, applying a coating of an electrocatalytically- active material to the slit sheet, and stretching the coated sheet to expand the sheet and form the open mesh. The mesh is suitable for use as an anode in cathodic protection of steel-containing structures, for example, steel-reinforced concrete structures.
