A rolling ring comprising a base and a wear ring, the base consisting of a material having a higher heat expansion coefficient and a lower wear resistance than the material of the wear ring. A method of construction of such rolling ring wherein the wear ring is placed over the base and solder is applied between them. The assembly is heated causing the base to expand to a greater extent than the wear ring and producing distribution of the solder through the area of the solder joint. Upon cooling of the assembly the greater radial shrinkage of the base produces inwardly directed forces which are transmitted by way of the soldering joint to the wear ring.
