Abstract of the Disclosure A welding electrode having an electro-conductive core and an adherent flux coating thereon and characterized by the addition of an extremely thin sheath of metallic flake particles substantially surrounding the flux coating is disclosed. The sheath provides interiorly-oriented specularly reflective surfaces which provide an energy-reflective continuum directed toward the core for the purpose of improving electrode performance by containment and concentration of radiant energy in the core.
