The invention relates to metallurgical silicon containing substantially from 30 to 180 ppm of phosphorus comprised of a crystalline phase of primary silicon having a dissolved phosphorus content between 30 and 150 parts per million and intermetal phases whose global ratio is between 0.5 and 2 %, characterised in that, among said intermediary phases, the phase Si2Al2Ca does not exceed 0.3 % of the total of the metallurgical silicon mass. Said silicon is used for the synthesis of alkyl or aryl halogenosilanes useful for the preparation of silicones.

L'invention a pour objet un silicium métallurgique contenant globalement de 30 à 180 ppm de phosphore constitué d'une phase cristalline de silicium primaire à teneur en phosphore dissous comprise entre 30 et 150 parties par million et de phases intermétalliques dont le taux global est compris entre 0,5 et 2 %, caractérisé en ce que parmi ces phases intermédiaires, la phase Si2Al2Ca ne représente pas plus de 0,3 % du total de la masse de silicium métallurgique. Ce silicium est utilisé pour la synthèse des alkyl ou aryl halogénosilanes servant à la préparation des silicones.
