ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A metalworking lubricant composition which is particularly effective in high-temperature forging operations comprising a major amount of a naphthenic base oil which includes at least about 20 weight % of reduced naphthenic crude oil and preferably a minor amount of an additive which is either a zinc dihydrocarbyl dithiophosphate or a selected sulfur containing compound.
