A container, and use thereof, comprising a canister sealed with a metering valve, having a metering chamber, which contains a pharmaceutical aerosol formulation consisting essentially of(A) particulate salmeterol xinafoate optionally in combination with another drug useful in inhalation therapy, suspended in (B) a liquefied propellant gas comprising 1,1,1,2,3,3,3- heptafluoro-n-propane, 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane or a mixture thereof;wherein the formulation is substantially free of surfactant and components having polarity higher than the liquefied propellant gas; said valve characterised in that it contains one or more sealing gaskets substantially constructed from of a polymer of EPDM and the metering chamber surface presents a substantially fluorinated surface to the formulation.
Cette invention se rapporte à un récipient et à son utilisation, ce récipient étant constitué par une bombe fermée hermétiquement à l'aide d'un clapet de dosage et comportant une chambre de dosage, laquelle contient une formulation d'aérosol pharmaceutique comprenant essentiellement: (A) du xinafoate de salmétérol en particules éventuellement associé à un autre médicament utile dans les thérapies par inhalation, en suspension dans (B) un gaz propulseur liquéfié contenant du 1,1,2,3,3,3-heptafluoro-n-propane, du 1,1,1,2-tétrafluoroéthane ou un mélange de ceux-ci; cette formulation étant essentiellement exempte de tensioactif et de constituants ayant une polarité supérieure à celle du gaz propulseur liquéfié. Ledit clapet se caractérise en ce qu'il contient un ou plusieurs joints d'étanchéité fabriqués essentiellement à partir d'un polymère d'EPDM et la surface de la chambre de dosage en contact avec la formulation est une surface essentiellement fluorée.
