-12- "METERING CUP FOR SEED, FERTILIZER AND THE LIKE" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The metering cup includes a disc assembly at the base of a hopper having a screen-type impeller driven by a ground engaging wheel with the impeller formed from expanded metal or the like. An adjustable inlet communicates with the hopper and the air conveyor conduit of an air seeder, communi- cates with the impeller approximately 180° from the inlet. The adjustable inlet controls the amount of material passing from the hopper through the inlet and the speed of the ground engaging wheel controls the speed of rotation of the impeller and hence the flow of material to the air seeder conduit. The movement of the impeller through 180° from the inlet to the air seeder conduit, prevents a flow of material, particu- larly fine material directly to the air seeder regardless of the forward speed of the air seeder.
