The invention relates to a tubular metering device for use with a til- table supply container having a supplementary trap which fills as a main trap dispenses. The problem associated with supplementary traps em- ployed in tiltable containers is that the contents of the supplementary trap often contaminates the main trap during dispensation thus reducing metering accuracy. A trap container having an upper portion (13) divided into a dispensing passage (22) and a metering chamber (20) by a vertical wall (18), and having a lower portion (14b, 15) which forms an undivided collecting chamber (21). The metering chamber (20) has axially spaced inlet opening (27) and vent opening (28). The metering chamber (20) is partially segregated from the collecting chambers (21) by a baffle (25) protruding from the vertical wall (18). This baffle (25) ensures accurate operation of the dispensing device and reduces its necessary volume and length.
